Creating and editing content

eLAIX provides a set of buttons, that help you creating and editing content.
eLAIX insert element buttons

Insert elements like images, sound, movies and flash files. You can also insert footnotes, a new ILIAS-Page and internal links to chapters.

Format selected text as a heading of a certain level. Set the outline numbering for all heading levels.
format as paragraph

Format paragraphs as ILIAS-paragraphs like Additional, Citation, Example, Note and Remark. Or reset any paragraph to the standard text body format.

Format the different list-types that ILIAS can handle: alphanumeric, numeric, roman and bullet lists.

Align objects like graphics, formulas or any OLE-object to the left, to the right or centered. eLAIX will automatically set the best anchor-method and space to text for the selected object.

Use the new dialogs to edit the document metadata and to check the document before exporting it to an ILIAS learning unit.

Transfering content

With eLAIX you can transfer the following content elements to ILIAS:
  • The metadata of the leaning unit
  • The structure of the document (chapter)
  • ILIAS-Pages
  • Text and text-formattings
  • ILIAS paragraphs like example, note, remark, citation, code
  • Complete unicode character set, so special characters of all languages are supported
  • External hyperlinks
  • Internal links to chapters
  • Footnotes
  • Graphics with their size, adjustment and caption
  • Lists: alphanumeric, numeric, roman, bullets
  • Formulas (via integrated editor)
  • Tables containing any content (no vertically joined or splitted cells)
  • Frames containing any content
  • Media (audio, movie, animations/flash)
  • Standard header and footer of the document
  • Individual style for the learning unit (via style.xml file)
